COMPLEX PLANET

COMPLEX PLANET , is an exhibition that presents a selection of different sound, video and photographic works presented within an exhibition where our different cultural identities are analyzed through the relationship of endemic social processes and globalization. A social study where cultural identity is seen from contemporary art.

The proposal is based on the fact that a fundamental characteristic that makes evolution possible in nature is diversity, since if there is diversity there are possibilities of genetic exchange and mutation, therefore, adaptation to an environment. changing. This context is reflected in not only biological contexts but also in our social and cultural contexts. Thus, this endemic and global factor, which in turn guarantees evolution and adaptability, has to do with the importance of diversity.

The exhibition is divided into three stages:

1. The first part is called Global Endemic. The objective is deepening and reflection regarding a specific topic: ENDEMIC versus GLOBAL.

2. The second part is called Global Endemic Crisis, which seeks to identify common patterns and particularities of causes and effects on a global and local scale, and their convergence in the territory of the sciences of complexity through art, where the possibilities of exploration branch into paths that address different scales and systems, environmental crisis, global crisis, social crisis, criticism of capitalism, climate change, protests and structural changes.

3. The third part is titled GAIA Crisis, which invites us to think about respect for biological life on planet Earth and the human capacity to destroy or preserve it.

CONFERENCES

COMPLEX PLANET addresses the dialectical relationship between the global and particular characteristics of a system. In the arts, the particularities of works and artists, such as their diversity, originality, local contexts and cultural parameters, form an invaluable universal legacy in the face of global standards of visual and auditory consumption promoted by the mass media. In the face of pop phenomena, it is essential to maintain freedom of creation and thought. Just as it happens in politics, philosophy or biodiversity, there is no single art that is better than another, but rather different manifestations are born and coexist in balance. At COMPLEX PLANET we analyze the necessary balance between the endemic and the global, from art, social sciences and natural sciences.
